Looking after someone with dementia can be very demanding and distressing. It may affect your health and your emotions.

You may become depressed

You may feel very stressed and develop backaches and joint pains

You may develop anemia because you are not eating properly.

You may become nervous.

You may become resentful and embarrassed of the
behaviour and language of the person in your care. This may cause you to cut yourself off from others. You may then take little interest in your appearance and have no other interest outside of caring.

All or some of the above may result in you snapping, or shouting at the person(s) you are caring for.
